Clifton was founded in the winter of 1852-53, when four Norwegian and German immigrant families settled in the vicinity. The town was initially named Cliff Town after the limestone cliffs that surround it, which was gradually altered to Clifton over the years.
Located in Bosque County, we celebrate our heritage every year through numerous festivals and every day in the historical properties you can see and visit throughout our region. Clifton is served by State Highway 6.
